Let me add by saying even showing  acts of kindness to a deprived citizen, you will be compelled to pay Bribes. 

It was last week Monday, Linda Ikeji assigned me to Visit one Mercy Effiong who was accused of theft and has subsequently been confined to the female section of the Prison without legal aid for about four Years,

 my experience was disheartening as the warder took turns to collect bribes to show acts of kindness. the system is totally enmeshed as corruption a citizen   

 
The level of corruption in our country is unbelievable because there is hardly any aspect of life that corruption has not permeated. Even going to the Post Office to buy a stamp, you almost have to beg to get the stamp or bribe to get the stamp. You have to give people money for everything; bribery and corruption are so bad and are almost everywhere. The pensioners have to offer bribe even before they get their pension.

So I don’t know what we are going to do but like somebody said, I believe we need moral rearmament. We need a complete change of morality in this country...~NM
