Lagos begins demolition at "Makoko" shanties

Government begins demolition at Lagos shanties in Makoko waterfront, the community known as "Ago Egun" with houses built under the power-line and  situated on the lagoon, have been given ultimatum of 72 hours to vacate their bamboo resident, Thousands of residents of Makoko/Iwaya will  loose their home as a joint taskforce comprising policemen, soldiers and officials of Kick Against Indiscipline, demolished their structures today. I hope Government have plans of a rehabilitation alternative for the poor  people of this community
