Google's Eric Schmidt Visits Fashola in Lagos

Eric Schmidt and Governor Fashola
Chairman of Google, Eric Schmidt was in Lagos last week. Schmidt made a courtesy call to Lagos State Governor, Governor Babatunde Fashola accompanied by Google Ideas Director, Mr. Jared Cohen and Country Manager, Google Nigeria, Mrs. Juliet Ehimuan Chiazor amongst others to discuss the use of information and communications technology to drive growth in various sectors of the Nigerian economy.

Governor Fashola was accompanied by member’s of his cabinet including The Lagos State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Dr Obafemi Hamzat as well as The Commissioner for Science and Technology Mr Adebiyi Mabadeje. I hope the discusion also includes and not limited to high speed internet at cheap rates in Lagos to drive commerce and business. Good payment solutions and courier services. can someone also advice Lagos State government to start thinking in the line of creating an agency to monitor and regulate e-commerce services within Lagos so as to boost confidence.
