Russia orders the immediate release 15 sailor

The continued relationship between Aso Rock and the Kremlin will be determined by whatever becomes the fate of the 15 Russian held in Nigerian territorial waters, Their offense was entering Nigerian territorial waters illegally, this was worsen by the number of arms recovered from the Russian citizen. the Kremlin is also not watching her citizen subjected to the laws of a "third world" country as they have issued an order for expedited release of their citizen. "The Russian government Wednesday called for the immediate release of the 15 sailors arrested by the Nigerian Navy for allegedly smuggling arms into the country. Nigerian authorities intercepted a ship and arrested its Russian crew on October 23 last year after they found 14 AK-47 riffles guns and 8,500 rounds of ammunition on board.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said the sailors were facing a court case initiated "under false pretexts" and that Nigeria broke a promise given to Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, that the men would return to Russia before the New Year.

"We expect that this time around, the Nigerian partners will stick to their word and release the Russian sailors in the nearest time without additional conditions and further delays," Reuters quoted the ministry as saying in a statement Wednesday.

The sailors, who had been kept in navy custody since their arrest in October, were handed over to the police last Monday. "On Monday, we handed over the crew to the police as we have completed preliminary investigations," spokesman for the Western Naval Command, Lieutenant Commander Jerry Omodara said on telephone, adding that "The ship and the weapons are still in our custody."

The Moran Security Group, the Russian company that owns the confiscated vessel, called the accusations "groundless" and urged Nigeria to release the sailors.

So the Russians demand the return of their sailors? Let them lodge a complaint with our Foreign. We've dealt with far worse threats.

Anyway, I suggest the FG hands over the Russians in exchange for a number of Nigerians held up in Russian gulags. But confiscate the ship and all weapons found in it.

Nigeria and Russia are both sovereigb states irrespective of their size, population, economic or military might.
Russia only has more power than Nigeria because it is a veto-wielding nation of the united nations and one of the five that can independently start a war.Now let's look at it,what has Nigeria done to warrant an attack ? The russia would only strain relations with Nigeria and nothing will happen. The US has threatened to cut off aids to Nigeria if it eventually banned homosexuality but Nigeria still maintained her stand and nothing happened. If Nigeria jailed the Russian, the government of Russia will only come and dialogue with Nigeria, possibly bribing for their release.

P.s
The united states of America paid the sanction imposed on Di*ck Cheney former vice president of the UD for his complicity in the haliburton case to the Nigerian government and heaven didn't fall.

The Nigerian government should also demand the release of Nigerians in Russian jails in exchange for the Russian sailors.
If the Russians reject this request, then GEJ should allow the Law to take its course.

We cannot just release these sailors just because Russia is a World Power if it wants to go out of hand and i know Nigeria cant stand them in war then we transfer the case to the international court

A good student of International Relations would also advise the Nigerian government to seek concessions from Russia, such as an exchange of prisoners etc.
This would show that leadership of Nigeria is not a wimpy one.
